HST Leader

Kathy Styron has taught Physical Education for 17 years, 16 of them at Aloma Elementary.  She tries to instill in her students personal responsibility for their health, teaching activities that will promote life-long fitness and educating them about nutrition with an emphasis on making better choices.  Kathy has been the Healthy School Team leader at Aloma for 12 years.

CHILL Counselor

Meredith FormanMeredith Kelley, LMHC

Meredith Kelley obtained her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Registered Play Therapist/Supervisor (RPT-S).  Meredith specializes in counseling with children and families and incorporates modalities such as sand-tray therapy, play therapy, and art therapy into her work. She is the Vice-President for the Central Florida Chapter of the Association for Play Therapy. She has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, community agencies, and hospitals.  She has been with the CHILL program since 2006.

Renae PowellRenae Powell, LPN

Renae has been a Licensed Practical Nurse for 16 years, and working at Aloma Elementary for the past five years. She strives to educate and promote good, healthy choices among the students, parents, and staff through the School Healthy Team program.  She focuses on building a professional and personal health care relationship with all the students, parents and staff.

Physical activity affects aptitude, attitude, memory, and concentration as well as social development and overall health. Schools provide a unique opportunity for partnerships with parents and the community to teach students good health behaviors that will endure.
