Cheney Elementary School has put together a strong team for Healthy Central Florida’s Walk 90 Challenge. The Cheney Elementary School team is hoping the “third time’s a charm” for their Walk90 Challenge as they compete for 1st place in the public school competition. “We walk all day around the school campus , so we might as well keep on walking [for the big cash prize],” said Tracey Gibson, principal of Cheney Elementary School, who is supportive of creating a healthy school culture.
If Cheney ES wins the competition, they plan on applying their cash award ($1000 for first place) toward something healthy for the students and staff. Team Cheney’s advice for fellow Walk90 participants: avoid the elevator, create more walking teams, and during the holidays, use portion control and spend less time watching football on the couch. Get out and enjoy this beautiful Florida weather!
