walk and bike to school photoHealthy Central Florida’s (HCF) annual Walk and Bike to School Workshop—a chance to learn how to encourage children to walk and bike to school safely—is set for 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., September 18 at the Winter Park Community Center, 721 W. New England Ave., Winter Park.

Made possible with support from HCF, Florida Hospital (FH) and the Winter Park Health Foundation (WPHF), the event is free and designed for principals, Healthy School Team Leaders, city officials, police, pedestrian/cycling advocates, concerned parents and PTA representatives.

Participants will hear from local walking and biking experts, get tools to promote walking and biking at their school, listen to a panel of police, city officials, parents and teachers all working together for safe routes to school and possibly qualify for mini-grants to support biking and walking programs.

To attend, RSVP to info@healthycf.org.  If you have questions, contact Asher Levine at alevine@healthycf.org, or call 407.644.2300 ext. 241.

HCF is a community-based partnership founded by the WPHF and FH to help local communities embrace health and wellness.
