Need to squeeze more exercise into your week? You may want to take a Walk with a Doc from Florida Hospital. It’s a great new way to get healthy, get the scoop on reliable health information, and meet new friends. And, it’s the latest activity launched by Healthy Central Florida (HCF), a community-based initiative founded by the Winter Park Health Foundation and Florida Hospital.
It’s a fact that the simple act of walking improves your physical and mental health. It also improves your well-being when you get out, meet new people and try new things. The new Walk with a Doc program will enable you to spend time with and get to know outstanding physicians, and ask medical questions in an informal, relaxed, and fun way–all while meeting new friends who are also interested in getting healthy.
Walk with a Doc will begin Thursday, September 12. Walkers will meet at the Peggy and Philip B. Crosby YMCA Wellness Center at 6 p.m. each Thursday for the 30-minute walks. The walks are free and open to everyone.
By the way, the walks will take place rain or shine – the YMCA has generously offered the use of its indoor track if there is inclement weather.
