Safe Walking and Biking to School

Did you walk and bike to school and wish your kids could do the same?

Find out how to promote safe walking and biking to school at a free workshop to be held from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at the Winter Park Community Center, 721 W. New England, Winter Park.

Aimed at concerned parents and PTA representatives, principals, Healthy School Team Leaders, city officials, police and pedestrian/cycling advocates, the workshop is made possible with support from Healthy Central Florida, Florida Hospital and the Winter Park Health Foundation.

Speakers include Michelle Sartor and Jody Lazar, two Maitland moms who have transformed walking and biking in Maitland, as well as representatives from Bike/Walk Central Florida and the WalkSafe program, Safe Routes to School, the Walking School Bus, and others.
